Scootchin' Sand

How we came up with the name:

It probably sounds dumb to most people, but I like it so here it is. As we know, this blog is about all things Lisa & Mick, so folks that know us well are probably not surprised to hear such a story. If you not in the mood to read about flirty stuff then close your browser.
We met each other at the beginning of a week long river trip. As the week on the river progressed we each secretly knew that we were "interested" in each other, but we were supposed to be working so the ice was a bit stubborn in it's breaking. The second to last night of the trip we were camped at Nefertiti Beach near the end of Gray Canyon on the Green River. Nefertiti was named by John Wesley Powell in 1869. Despite a sultry June night we sat up late around a campfire on the beach with our friend Andy. We were well into a bottle of whiskey when, much to my surprise, Lisa scooted sand onto my feet. I thought I must've just been drunk then a few minutes later it happened again. It was fun and I was glad. We played back and forth like that thinking Andy was too drunk to notice. Now don't be dirty, nothing happened that night, except the beginning of our relationship.
Little did we know how profound an impact the beach and sand would have in our lives together. That was June 1st 2010 and I'm still real glad things have turned out the way they have.

We have always joked that if we ever got a ranch that we'd name it the Scootchin' Sand Ranch. Since we have no such ranch this blog will have to suffice.
